Dad, here. Well, she's there, and it looks like all the language training
is going to be not much good for the first little while anyway. Let the
adventure begin. WE got to talk to her briefly from L.A. on her first stop
on the way. She sounded wonderful and was really excited to be on the way.
One of her companions had never even been on an airplane before, so her
excitement over the whole experience was kind of contagious. All
correspondence to her should now go to the email address below. When she
gives me a mailing address I'll forward that on to you. Thanks for your
love and support of our sister.

Hey,
They are giving us a few minutes to send a quick email. I arrived. I
survived. We got here yesterday around 1:30 I think. I really don't have
much memory of yesterday. When we got off the plane there was a huge crowd
of screaming girls with signs and flashing lights all in Chinese.
Apparently there was an Asian music star on our flight. It was a great
welcoming. Yesterday and today we have been doing a bunch of workshops put
on by President and his assistants. Tomorrow I'm heading to Kuala Lumpur!
It makes me think of the movie Entrapment (the big towers). It is a huge
city, like unto New York I'm told. So I'm not going to the jungle in east
malaysia, just yet. I'm completely excited except for the fact that I'll be
teaching mostly in English. I was really looking forward to being immersed
in the language, but that is not in the stars for me just yet I guess. My
new companion has only served in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur so she doesn't
know Malay either. I hear KL is a huge melting pot though. My companion
says she knows how to greet someone in 40 languages and uses them every day.
Should be interesting. We fly out tomorrow. I'm sad to only spend two days
in Singapore. It is so pretty here. The entire city looks like a resort.
There are pretty flowers everywhere and I have yet to see a dirty street. I
wish you all could fly here to see it.
Yesterday I was pretty tired but today I've been fine, which I am very
happy about. I love you! P-day is on Wednesday so I'll write again then.
